So, you are here looking for modern bedding and you keep seeing the term “duvet cover” all over the place. And now you are asking yourself, “What on earth is a duvet cover anyhow?” Well, we have the answer for you.
Duvet covers originated in Europe and serve as a decorative protective covering for a down or polyfill comforter (otherwise referred to as an “insert”). As a rule, duvet covers are not pulled to the head of the mattress, they are typically folded down, along with the flat sheet, approximately 8” from the top of the bed. Duvet covers typically close with buttons, ties or a zipper closure and will sometimes have ties on the inside corners to keep the insert in place.
Duvet covers are a wonderfully versatile option for modern bedding. Start with a high quality duvet insert. A great duvet insert will keep you warm, last for years and is a definitely a wise investment. Once you have the foundation of a great duvet insert, then you can choose a duvet cover to suit your style. Duvet covers can either be washed or dry cleaned as needed (depending on the fabric). Crisp cottons are durable and will keep you cool in warm months. Sumptuous silk duvet covers are a sexy addition to any modern bedroom.
Please note that all of our modern duvet covers come unstuffed. However, we do sell high quality duvet inserts as well.

I felt so dumb not knowing what a duvet cover is and now you have taken that embarrassment away from me and ofr that I am grateful.
The best thing about a duvet cover is that you can change it with the seasons or wash it if your dog jumps on the bed with muddy paws
